VI Slow Walk in Nigüelas: Every Step Makes a Difference
On Sunday 6 September 2026, Nigüelas will once again come together for a special cause with the VI Slow Walk, a charity walking event in support of the 22q11.2 Syndrome Association of Andalusia.
It is an opportunity to experience Nigüelas at the best possible pace: on foot. A day to discover the landscape and local heritage, spend time together outdoors and support an important cause at the same time.
Two routes for different levels
The event offers two routes suitable for different fitness levels, allowing more people to take part.
This isn't about being the fastest. The spirit of the Slow Walk is exactly the opposite: take your time, look around, talk, breathe and enjoy the landscape of the Lecrín Valley and the foothills of Sierra Nevada.
Nigüelas is a wonderful starting point for walking and hiking. From the village, paths lead towards traditional irrigation channels, ravines, farmland and the mountains of Sierra Nevada.
Walking for a good cause
The VI Slow Walk raises funds for the 22q11.2 Syndrome Association of Andalusia, supporting its work with people affected by 22q11.2 deletion syndrome and their families and helping to increase awareness and understanding.
It transforms a day in nature into something more: walking, community and solidarity coming together.
